Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses a light hypnotic state to work with your unconscious/subconscious mind to help you to process, manage and reduce your levels of anxiety or stress.

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction

MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) is a group or individual therapy that teaches Mindfulness techniques. These techniques include Body Scan, sitting and walking meditations. The aim is to enable and empower you to disconnect from negative thoughts and associated feelings. To give you a conscious control over how you think feel and act.

TIR (Traumatic Incident Reduction) for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Traumatic Incident Reduction is a therapy developed to process and resolve Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and all other forms of trauma. If your anxiety stems from a traumatic event, abuse, violence, accident, injury etc TIR can resolve those traumas.

We work with clients suffering from a range of anxieties including the following :

Social Anxiety is more than shyness. Its an intense fear that doesn’t go away and effects everyday activities, self confidence, relationships and work or school life. Many people occasionally worry about social situations, but someone with social anxiety feels overly worried before, during and after them. Symptoms may include sweating, trembling or a pounding heart (palpitations).

Performance Anxiety is not the same as being nervous. It can be a dibillitating condition that gets in the way of performing at ones best. In many cases it can then be very difficult to make a presentation, give a speech, perform in a concert or take an exam. it may also include sexual performance such erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation or being unable to orgasm.

General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) refers to a condition whereby the sufferer is anxious about a wide range of situations rather than by one specific situation or event. People with GAD feel anxious most days and would often struggle to remember the last time they felt relaxed. Symptoms may include trouble concentrating, a constant feeling of restlessness, accompanied by dizziness and/or rapid heartbeat.

Phobias and Fears can be catergorised as irrational fears of particular animals, objects or situations.

Common examples of phobias include :

Animal phobias – such as dogs, spiders and snakes

Environmental phobias – such as heights, deep water and germs

Situational phobias – such as visiting the dentist or flying

Bodily phobias – such as blood, vomit or having injections

Symptoms associated with phobias fall in in line with other anxiety disorders. Someone with a phobia of flying for example, will undergo the same feelings and symptoms, physical and mental, of panic in common with other anxieties, – social anxiety, GAD etc

When you are afraid, your fear is usually caused by some concrete external object or situation. The event that you fear, is usually in the bounds of possibility – you may fear not meeting a deadline or failing to pass an exam, being unable to pay bills, meeting someone new for fear of rejection, etc.

When you experience anxiety, on the other hand, you can’t always specify just what you’re anxious about. Your focus of concern is more internal than external. It seems a response to a vague, distant, or even unknown danger. You could be anxious about “losing control” of yourself or a situation. Or, you might just have a feeling that “something is wrong.”

I decided to try hypnotherapy to reduce my stress and help control my anger. After my first session I felt calmer and lighter. I will be seeing Adrian again as I found this very beneficial and a worthwhile experience. Thank you Adrian.” *

Hypnotherapy & Mindfulness for Panic attacks

We will help you to resolve any underlying issues and teach you techniques to prevent and manage your future anxiety and stress levels. Panic attacks are caused by incorrect beliefs about yourself and the world around you. Did you know that a panic attack is brought on literally by the fear of a panic attack, rather than the initial anxiety provoking thoughts. Hypnotherapy for Panic Attacks works, because we can work out what thoughts you are having that provoke the anxiety causing thoughts that lead to a panic attack. This, together with our relaxation sessions, will stop you from ever getting as far as having a panic attack again. It will enable you to reduce and eventually leave anxiety in your past.
