Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction is a group-based Programme developed by Dr John Kabat-Zinn  and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in 1979 for clients with an extensive range of physical and mental health problems.
It is an eight session usually one session per week programme that is very prescriptive. Every session is planed out with set aims, goals and homework.

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy for Depression (MBCT)

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for Depression is an integration of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It was developed for patients who had had three or more episodes of depression and teaches techniques to enable participants to disengage from habitual ‘automatic’ depressive ways of thinking.
