Diversity Policy

Before I became a full-time professional Hypnotherapist in September 2007 I spent 20 years working with, caring for people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, Autism and Challenging Behaviours. Since I became a therapist in 2007 I have continued to work with clients of all diversities in a supportive and non-judgemental way. I’ve also spent 10 years as a volunteer for the British Red Cross and 5 years as a Samaritan Listening Volunteer. In my lifetime I have known, been friends with and worked with people of all diversities be it disability, faith, ethnicity, sexuality or alternative lifestyles in an accepting, non-judgemental and supportive way

Myself and all other therapists of Wellbeing Hypnotherapy & Mindfulness respect and appreciate all people irrespective of age, ethnicity, gender, disability, religion, sexuality or their forms of relationships and lifestyle choices including gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual,  transgender, asexual, agender, polyamorous, pansexual, pangender or belonging to the Kink or Fetishes communities.

Adrian Sonnex MCH and Joel Cantor MCH both trained at and passed their “Professional Hypnotherapist Course”,  “Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis” “DCH” at The Institute of Clinical Hypnosis. This took over 1 year of training, study, practice and exams. They both had to complete – pass four marked essays, have supervision sessions ( presenting six case histories they had taken from practice clients) and pass three exams: practical, written and definitions paper before they were awarded their “DCH”.  They first had to complete their Foundation Course in Hypnotherapy. On being awarded their Professional “Hypnotherapy Diploma” “DCH” to be of as much help to their clients as possible they continued their training with the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis being awarded their Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy “DHP” and finally their ” Master Clinical Hypnotherapist ” “MCH”. They still wanted to improve their quality of therapy service and ability to help and support people with anxiety, depression, trauma and other difficulties so they both continued their training and practice to improve their knowledge, skills and experience including further hypnotherapy, counselling, mindfulness and other therapies training. Both have a “Diploma in the Art and Science of Neuro Linquistic Programming” “NLP” both are qualified Mindfulness therapists and trainers and are Trauma Therapists in “Traumatic Incident Reduction” .

Adrian Sonnex and Joel Cantor are both registered Hypnotherapists with the “Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council” “CNHC” which was set up by the Government to protect the public from untrained, poorly trained, unprofessional or amateur therapists.

They are also Registered with the “GHR” “General Hypnotherapy Register” and have both been awarded their ” Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice” “SQHP”. Anyone who is awarded a ” Hypnotherapy Diploma ” if it is recognised by the “GHR” is given the ” General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice GQHP ” to be awarded the “Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice” you must be in continual practice for a minimum of 5 years and have maintained a minimum average client workload of 25 hours per month throughout that period.

Protect Yourself from Bad – Amateur Therapists

We are aware of other Hypnotherapy Diplomas, Mindfulness training/diplomas and other therapy training that requires only 5 hours online training, 2 days, 6 days or 10 days of training many without any exams to check level of understanding and ability.  In 2020 I saw a weekend course, 2 day Diploma in Hypnotherapy costing £250 advertised on Facebook, previously I have seen a Hypnotherapy course, online training costing £50. My wife was awarded a Mindfulness Diploma in 2019 which took her 6 hours of online training and cost her £25.
