You can prevent relapses of depression?
Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) uses a combination of mindfulness mediation and CBT Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to take off your automatic pilot and be consciously aware of your thoughts, preventing further episodes of depression. Making you feel back in control of yourself.

An eight session (usually one session a week) programme to prevent relapses of depression.

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) was developed by Zindel V. Segal, J. Mark, G. Williams and John D. Teasdale. The Mental Health Foundation said the NHS should prescribe meditation routinely for depression (at the moment only 1 in 20 GPs do).

Scientific studies have shown that meditation – specifically, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), is at least as effective as antidepressants. Regular meditation can enlarge the parts of the brain that control emotion and reach right into the mind and strengthen it. We teach mindfulness-meditation as a life skill. We all have difficult times in our life, it is how we deal with them that matters.< br/> Most profound issues stem from our difficult times but are driven by really strong habitual patterns of thought. Mindfulness gives you the tools to step out of those patterns.
